I'm lazy... there are a ton of resources on dA with full codes for journals. Just browse, go under DeviantArt Related > Journal CSS > Complete Journal CSS if you want a canned design. In one of the other cats under Journal CSS has tutorials on what the different tags mean.

if you like the one I'm using specifically, there's a link at the bottom of the journal that either links you over to the artist who created it or the specific deviation of the CSS tags.
